Where Do You Draw the Line?

Have you ever been in so much pain that you would do anything to make it go away? Has life ever been so terrible that you would sacrifice anything to God if He would just make it stop? I’ve been there. I know. When 2018 hit, my surrounding world felt as if it was crawling all over me like ants. I wanted so badly to shake everything off. The pain. The depression. The sickness. The worry. He could have whatever He wanted; Just heal me! Things started small at first. I ran to Him on every bad day and went back to my old world on every good day. Eventually,…

    Slow Down

Slow down. Slow down your body. Slow down your mind. Slow down your heart. Life isn’t about quantity. It’s about quality. What sort of quality of life are you living? Slow down and take your time. Do not focus on your progress adding up. Focus on how you’re making that progress – In this moment – Right now. I am not telling you to stop. Please, take it.” My sister was always there for me, praying with me through the pain, specifically telling me to praise Him through the…

    The Game of Life

Have you ever played chess? I tend to like games of strategy. I like to plan my moves and arrange and organize my pieces on the board to set my traps. I don’t mean to give anything away, but I suppose I take more of a defensive approach and let the opponent come to me. My video game loving husband calls this “camping”, something I have gathered is comparative to cheating. Since he is usually the opponent anyway, I disagree and say that is how you are supposed to play chess. I like chess because I like planning and having everything in order. I like organizing and knowing where everything…

    The Importance of Prayer

Sometimes, our prayers seem to go unanswered. This can be especially frustrating when you’ve spent a long time praying about your situation. You begin to feel hopeless. Your faith fades. You start to think that maybe it just isn’t meant to be. Oftentimes, you simply give up. When I first got really sick, I could feel the power of prayer. I knew people were out there joining together in prayer for my healing, and I was full of hope. There were people praying for me all over the country. Surely God would hear our cries. I was going to be healed. A year later, I was still sick.  Mentally, I…
